The Creativity that got you here
Can Take You Further.

You may never have considered yourself a creative person. But every unfamiliar problem you solved, opportunity you spotted, change you adapted to, and better way you found required creative capacity.

That capacity helped get you where you are. Trained and used deliberately, it can help you solve harder problems, recognize new possibilities, adapt faster, and stay ahead in a world where familiar answers quickly become obsolete.

Creative Fluency: Tools for the Curious Mind

Discover how to strengthen the creative capacity you already possess—and put it to work when you need it most.

YOU'VE BEEN USING IT ALL ALONG

Perhaps you called it experience.

Or judgment. Resourcefulness. Ingenuity. Instinct. Leadership.

But whenever the situation was unfamiliar and the answer was not already known, you had to create a response. You had to notice something, imagine a possibility, make a connection, trust an insight, or adapt your approach.

That is creativity

Creativity is not a specialized talent reserved for artists. It is a natural human response to any situation that does not come with a ready-made answer.

But natural ability is not the same as trained capacity.

Most people use creativity only when circumstances force them to. They depend on occasional insight, fall back on familiar habits, and leave promising possibilities unexplored.

Learn to use that capacity intentionally, and you can generate more options, recognize opportunities sooner, make stronger decisions, and respond more effectively while others are still relying on what worked before.

TURN INSTINCTIVE CREATIVITY INTO A DELIBERATE ADVANTAGE

Professional creators do not depend on inspiration alone. They learn practices that help them observe more closely, imagine more freely, work with intuition, experiment with possibilities, and refine their ideas into useful strategies.

Most people never have the opportunity to learn those practices.

Creative Fluency brings them together in a practical system you can use in your work, your decisions, and the challenges of everyday life. It helps make creativity more conscious, more reliable, and more available when you need it.

Instead of waiting for a good idea to appear, you’ll learn how to:

The real advantage is not simply having more ideas. It's finding a better way forward when the right answer is not obvious.

SEE WHAT CREATIVE FLUENCY CAN HELP YOU BUILD

Great ideas are not random. They emerge from creative abilities you can understand, practice, and strengthen.

See how Creative Fluency can help you generate ideas, break through mental blocks, think differently, and call upon your creativity more consistently.

WHY CREATIVE CAPACITY SO OFTEN GOES UNUSED

YOU DON’T RECOGNIZE IT

You learned to call it intelligence, judgment, experience, or problem-solving—not creativity. As a result, you may never have thought to develop it.

YOU RELY ON OCCASIONAL INSIGHT

Because no one taught you a creative process, good ideas can seem random, unpredictable, and beyond your control.

YOU DEFAULT TO WHAT WORKED BEFORE

Experience is valuable—but when conditions change, yesterday’s answers may no longer be enough. Creativity helps you find a new way forward.

Experience tells you what worked before. Creativity helps you discover what will work next.

Who This Book Is For

You do not need to become a different kind of person. You need to train a capacity you already use—and learn to call upon it before circumstances force you to.

About the Author

Gary Izzo is a director, writer, and lifelong teacher of creativity, best known for his pioneering work in interactive theatre and improvisation. A former show director and creative consultant for Walt Disney Company, he helped shape Disney’s early use of live actors and interactive attractions.

For decades, Gary has trained performers to create under pressure, adapt in real time, trust their instincts, and turn unexpected circumstances into new possibilities. His students have gone on to work across Broadway, film, television, and live entertainment.

In Creative Fluency, he brings those same creative principles beyond the arts, offering practical tools that help professionals, problem-solvers, and curious people recognize, strengthen, and deliberately use their own creative capacity.
